Members james on bass Posted July 18, 2005 Members Posted July 18, 2005 I've heard many times here how crappy Behringer stuff is, though some people like it. My one band has a Behringer board that seems to be okay. Anyway, in the quest to try to improve my tone should I consider one of these? I realize they are a cheap Sansamp knockoff, but they are only $55 CAD new. Better idea to pay $200 for a used Tech21 BDDI?
Members greenshag Posted July 18, 2005 Members Posted July 18, 2005 if you buy from a store, you can always return it if you don't like it...
Members Rippin' Robin Posted July 18, 2005 Members Posted July 18, 2005 you could always buy it, and then knock it off at $30ish again when you've decided you either want to A) upgrade to a BDDI or B) don't like the concept. Just my $0.02
Members illidian Posted July 18, 2005 Members Posted July 18, 2005 At least one forumite (PresitaRules, IIRC) has one. He was impressed with it considering the price. I read a thread on ebassist that said (paraphrasing), "The Behringer is great for the money, but the Tech21 is better and should be your choice if you can afford it." If the Sansamp isn't for you, you can always unload it on eBay for not too much less than what you sold it for.
Members bassgirl9 Posted July 18, 2005 Members Posted July 18, 2005 See if they'll let you take it home first....I'm betting it's crappy. I hate the behringer bass stuff. There's got to be a better option for you. I had PA stuff from them. It's okay.

I mean, they even put Bass BDI 21 on the name!

The Behringer is cheap and I can get it in town, but really, do I want {censored} gear? On the other hand, it could be a short term quick/cheap fix.

Members james on bass Posted July 18, 2005 Author Members Posted July 18, 2005 True Dat. I'm not naive, just broke.
Members Archon_113 Posted July 18, 2005 Members Posted July 18, 2005 I had one and, althought it sounded pretty good, I returned it because the AC adapter socket didn't work. I'm now going to try and avoid Behringer products as much as possible.
