Members Old Guy Posted July 19, 2005 Members Posted July 19, 2005 He was here in NC last weekend. What a show! Steve Bailey was there with the fretless - WOW. Loved the whole show but...Reggie Wooten went long on the guitar solo and almost lost the crowd. When everyone else played no one left to get a drink. But Reggie was so long that there was a mass temporary exodus. MC Divinity was great, Victor was great, Anthony Wellington was great, Steve Bailey was great. Get the point?
Members Geddy'sFavHeadache Posted July 19, 2005 Members Posted July 19, 2005 i reckon, Wooten the shiznick!

I think the point is that even if his last name is Wooten, people hate long guitar solos!
Members c0kenp0pr0ckz Posted July 19, 2005 Members Posted July 19, 2005 is reggie wooten supposed to be a good guitar player? When i saw the wooten show i thought he sucked and was the weakest link in the band...plus, he's fat
Members MageZ Posted July 19, 2005 Members Posted July 19, 2005 They all suck...I bet they can't play like me.....that bad...
Members T. Alan Smith Posted July 19, 2005 Members Posted July 19, 2005 Wait a min...a guitar player hoggin' the spotlight for too long???
Members NSPBass Posted July 20, 2005 Members Posted July 20, 2005 See, I think Vic Wooten's solo stuff is incredible. Inventive and obviously technically amazing. But, when he writes actual songs and does stuff with a band....man, that stuff sucks. Sorry. nspbass

Members Matteran Posted July 20, 2005 Members Posted July 20, 2005 Yeah, I don't like Yin and Yang or any of that. A Show of Hands has some great stuff. I saw them when they came to San Francisco. AMAZING SHOW! Some of the funk songs with the band were a little cheesy or whatever, but there was always awesome stuff going on. I loved the solo segment of the show. Also, the encore was INCREDIBLE! Must have been a half hour or more. He just kept getting more and more basses, playing all these different types of basses, and everyone just going crazy... it was awesome. He also let people in the crowd play his "yin yang" fedora with the wireless setup. That was probably one of the coolest things I've seen.
