Im was thinking of doing the pots but am unsure what i should buy. Any suggestions on the pots or other electronics? I just put Dimarzio pots in my P and they are really smooth feeling unlike the MIM ones which felt like scratchy cheap plastic. WDDiMarzioCTS? Are brands that are decent that jump off the top of my head. With pickups, if thats what you mean by other electronics, then its all about experimentation. I have used a Quarter Pounder, 62 reissue and like the 62 better but it has less output. The 62 has a more mid range tone to it which I like.

A local store had them in stock. I put them in myself. I did a good job except I dropped a little ball of solder where the pickups sit creating havoc for a couple days. Silly me. But its a pretty easy job if you know how to wield a solder iron.
Members Apendecto Posted July 21, 2005 Members Posted July 21, 2005 Do it yourself. Go to stewart mcdonald and you can get a P bass wiring kit for about 12 bucks. Comes with a wiring diagram too. Worked for me and the pots were 10 times better than my old ones. Yo.
