Members Jazz Ad
If you feel rich, the EHX POG is the new trend in town. Or, the Boss PS-5 will do that and more.
Members Darkstorm
I like the pitchshifter in my ZoomPlayer 3000B. Allows for any shift from 1-12 both up & down Also has detune function which again is any step from 1-12 up or down. The detune fuction sounds like a cross between pitchshifter & chorus. Single octave only pitch shifters are so boring and limited.
Members The Unknown
The Electro-Harmonix Octave Multiplexer has only the octave down option BUT it's the best octave pedal I ever tried... I prefer it to the EBS, Boss, and well all others I could get my hands on... When the effect is engaged, your original tone stays pretty much the some as when it's off (true bypass by the way), and the octave down is shapeable... You got 2 controls in order to shape the effected tone: high pass and low pass... Yes, that means you select the amount of lows and highs of your original tone that gets effected... plus you get a third control that let's you balance the level of dry and octave down tone. Another great thing... it should be 100$ or less in the US... At least, try that pedal !!! I always recommend it to anyone who want's an octave pedal and never hear of anyone at least giving it a shot !!!
Members Deville
The Electro-Harmonix Octave Multiplexer doesn't track well enough for me.
Members bassplayinguy
i found the boss PS-5 way to artificial sounding, it sounded way too synthy, but sometimes thats good, depending on what music your playing, if you want something to double up with guitars and go octave up then id suggest something along the lines of a unibass (Which you mentioned) or the pog. My own experience tells me that the only pedal that tracked better then the EHX Octave Multiplexer is the polyphonic Boss (newest model) but the EHX is worlds better in terms of tone ! I haven't had any major tracking issues with mine...
