I like the pearl blocks on the rosewood, but the no pickguard-with-'51P control plate doesn't look right to me. And it looks so out of place since it's one of the few chrome parts on the bass.

 

MM-style pickup with Alder/Rosewood, sounds good in theory but I'm sure Fender will mess it up.

Not a bad bass. I saw it the other day when I posted about the new 24 fret jazz. I agree that the tele-style chrome control plate looks out of place, but I bet that pickup sounds good.

 

Too bad I 've never been a Fender or 4 string fan. Of course for that price, there are many other basses I get first.
