I know a fair bit.

If you want anything more than a toy, expect to pay over $100. I bought a lanikai brand off ebay for about $100 with a pickup and 1/4 jack. I'm not sure if there is a point in price where these things stay in tune better or not, but I know mine goes out of tune just about every song, mainly due to nylon strings.

It's a fun thing to have around. I opted for the tenor uke since it is the much fuller sounding, played solo.

Exhibit A

The baritone uke is tuned like the four highest strings on a guitar,DGBE(low to high). Soprano ukes tune as a guitar would with the capo on the fifth(GCEA) or seventh fret(ADF#B), with the significant difference in that string four is one octave higher. It tunes to the third fret of the second string.
