Members Emprov Posted July 25, 2005 Members Posted July 25, 2005 Me! Haven't really had all that much time to A/B it against the Dr. Bass's but initially, the bottom end is huge for such a small cab! Gotta say though that the Dr. Bass's are much more detailed and articulate though. The Schroeder is much warmer and the volume that it puts out is pretty comparable to the 2 Dr. Bass cabs. This cab would be perfect if the notes jumped out a bit more. Nice cab and so far, me likey!
Members T. Alan Smith Posted July 25, 2005 Members Posted July 25, 2005 From what I've been reading, it seems to be the perfect cab for aging rockers ...folks that want that kind of volume in a lighter package and aren't as concerned about definition.
Members bassment zombie Posted July 25, 2005 Members Posted July 25, 2005 Awesome - congrats! 1212 or 1210? Please post more after you put it through the paces in rehearsal, gig, wank-o-ramas, whatever

I felt that the 10 would be a bit less boomy and provide a touch more punch and note articualtion. The Dr. Bass's are cool but this thing is pure heaven to play through. And ya, I'll definitely be giving it the run through and posting more results. So far, it sounds like a GS112 with serious volume and 'tude!
Members no-logic Posted July 25, 2005 Members Posted July 25, 2005 Way to go man. Welcome to the club. I think the more you use it the better you will like it. I used it again last Saturday at another outdoor gig and it just wailed. I know I won't be getting rid of mine for a long, long time. (Notice how I didn't say never?) Congrads!!!! I tried to PM you but your box was full.

Both rigs are really cool and I'll wind up keeping the Schroeder but man, the 1260 and 1080 are gonna be hard to part with.

Best of both worlds??? I really wouldn't recommend standing too close to that bad boy when yer rockin'! Does the term "bleeding eyeballs" mean anything to you?

Members RSBro Posted July 27, 2005 Members Posted July 27, 2005 Hmm, prob with note definition? When I play live, I usually park the tweeter around 12 (halfway) and I can hear everything. Of course, my Demeter pre DOES have something to say about all of that... I have a pretty midrangy/mid-high EQ set on it, and it performs perfectly! Also, I finally got my Peavey amp in. It's like night and day from playing on that borrowed Mackie. I can't really compare it to the QSC I used to have, as that was a different setup, but my sound like came alive when I plugged it all in a few days ago when I first got it. This amp really rocks! 500W/chan. @ 4 ohms, and bridges to 1500@4! Killa!

Understand also that I've become really spoiled by the Dr. Bass's, they're all about articulation and volume. I don't think that there are too many cabs out there that'll give me the same level of def that they do. And doood, you sound like you've got a pretty awesome little mini rig!

I"ve heard that's what Accu's are just known for, and that it's not totally fair comparing the two, as they're not both after the same thing. Still, yeah, my hotrod lil rig will tear it up! I can't wait to add my 1212. Killer!

I came pretty close to pulling the trigger on one a few months back but, at almost 100lbs, no friggen way. The Schroeder should do the job for at least while. I can't imagine buying anything else short of a few Accugroove Tri110's or 112's in it's place but then again, you never know. For whatever reason, I usually don't hang onto cabs for all that long. So you're seriously considering a 1212? 2 Schroeders being pushed by 1000w???

But yeah, I figure the Schro's will go ahead and open up for me, even only being pushed at half their ratings. And, I'm actually considering a 21012 instead, so who knows! Might need a bigger amp!
