Members Les_Izzmor
Tascam Bass Trainer I got a CD from a band I'm going to audition for. They're all over the place. In so many instances the bass follows the guitar and they do these real fast multiple chord changes. And. All their songs have all kinds of different parts and extra bits thrown in. (believe it or not it works) It's been a pain in the ass attempting to figure out the songs. So. I was looking for something to record parts of the song and slow it down and I stumbled upon the Tascam. Here's my biggest question. It says it plays "any standard CD". Does that mean any CD you can play in a CD player. Or. Will it not play CD's that I burn on my PC? And. Does anybody know of anything else I could use? Members Archon_113
You can slow down tracks in Windows Media player. As long as they're fairly high bitrate it doesn't sound too bad. Just a thought.

If you want to slow down songs, download winamp and the pacemaker plugin for it. Lets you alter pitch, speed and tempo. It rocks.TEN

Members lug
The Tascam has a sampler that allows you to sample a part and then slow it down without changing it's pitch.
Members Cortfan
I have the newest version of the Tascam Bass MK ll, trainer and it is awesome. You will need the wall wart power supply, and the footswitch for maximum effectiveness. It eats batteries in minutes. Honestly, I don't have all the functions figured out, yet, and the effects are not why I would buy it. But it can sure speed up the learning curve by slowing the CD down and repeting it over and over. It will use any CD, even the mini CD's. I also like it, because I can take it with me, even if there is no computer around. Check the price at www.fullcompass.com Ask for Heather.
