You know what my favorite part is? These kids have to get online and search to find the hack. Because there's no porn on the Internet at all.

If the kids are getting online and downloading the hack without parents knowing, what's to stop them from downloading actual high resolution porn without the parents knowing?

Gah, I'm not even getting into this one.

The last part of my original post I believe addresses this question as well. I was at camp this past week and talking to my brother (who pretty much runs it) about some movies I'd seen and games I'd played, and like most of these kids, like 10-15, had already seen them, knew the lines, knew the parts of the games, etc.. I was just blown away.

It is a foolish thing granted... you murder people and kill cops for points and that's okay, but a little sex (that's not even graphic) isn't tolerated.

ok indeed it does :p , Sorry Rachel ;) btw the Who Framed Roger Rabbit is way hotter , so if you saw it, it's really laughable , but I guess it's in there , as for someone who plays this game it's just for some good twisted fun , like going to a GWAR concert , fairly harmless and slightly dirty :D

GO HILLARY

Yea, cuz that big huge text on the box that says the following (lemme grab my version of it):

"Mature, 17+, Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs".

Yay for irresponsible parenting! It's right there on the box, this isn't rocket science. Read the damned box before you buy it for your kids.

BTW the sex game can't be accessed without modifying the game. This is NOT simply changing a line in a text file, this is hex editting, which is much, much harder to do. The sex game doesn't even involve nudity, they're fully clothed - it's dry humping.

Let's suppose even for a second, that the sex game was built in. Re-read what's on the box, "strong sexual content".

I can't believe this bull{censored} has gone this far. I hope Rockstar sells millions upon millions more copies.

well, i haven't read any of the other posts. but let me just start by saying. WHO GIVES A {censored}! ITS JUST A GAME! i mean, there are some serious drug/violence/crime problems in our country. and people of power are talking about a {censored}in sex scene in a video game. WHO CARES! do something valuable with your time.

It/they will. I'm seeing Halo proportions, just to say "Shove it!". I know I'll be one of them. I could go buy it on eBay, but I want to be a statistic. :p

:p

Not without the support of Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Comp USA, Circuit City, ...

It might be good for publicity but when nobody can *find* the game, their numbers aren't going to go up.

I don't play video games at all so I'm not really up to date on what's out there. My point is that the games should be no different than movies, parents need to be able to look at the outside of the box and know what the content is. Whether it be violence, language or sexual content...

GTA usually makes things pretty obvious, including the cover. The M rating should be an obvious sign that no kids should play the game. In the case of this series, there's been so much news about it and its predecessors already that you'd really have to be living under a rock not to know what's inside.

Honestly, I think video games give a better idea of content many times than movies.

Not really. That might stop mom and dad from picking it up for junior but it certainly won't stop many other people who will just find other places to get their games. Places like Game Stop and Best Buy are still selling them. I don't think there'll be much problem finding the game.

As it is, a few places I've checked were sold out on the PS2 copies.

I've tried a Ric, pretty damn badass I might say! But I think a bass like that really deserves to be played through something like a Trace or a GK, something that really lets it shine without actually adding much of its own sound to mask it.

I've actually heard that Hartke's are good for Rics  anyone can confirm this?

[/attempted thread hijack]

But yeah. It says 17+ on the box. Graphic violence, strong language, drug use etc. etc. What parent in their right mind would let their 10 year old play a game like that in the first place?!? So there's sex in there. Like the other things are ok for a young child to see as normal. In fact, if you think about it, sex is nothing compared to everything else in that game!

No, they'll stock it back with the M rating on the game, which is why they took it off to reprogram the new versions of it. That's what I'm talking about. Now you have to ask for it at certain retailers and still get the original M rated, supposed AO game. Rockstar said it'd take about 3 months, but they're already in the works to rerelease the fixed version.

I concur completely. Any parent who would let their child play this game deserves nothing but badness visited upon them if they later choose to complain about it. The GTA games are notorious and quite famous for how violent they are. Remember the whole hubub over Vice City when it came out because at one point one of the characters has to "Kill all the Hatians"? GTA games are all about controversy. It's great marketing and they know it, so after the first wave of buyers get the game and sales start to slump they stir up some controversy for themselves. Do you think somebody just randomly happened to figure out how to download and install the random sex scene? Hell no! It was done by their marketing department and then leaked to the news to drum up sales - and it worked!!! But back to me point, these games are ultra-violent, always have been, and any parent who complains about that after the fact is a bloomin' idiot! This isn't about free speech, it's about free enterpirse and how far we're willing to let it go.

Let's see, in the unhacked version of GTA you can:

Kill cops

Kill random people on the street for no reason

Hack people with a chainsaw

Burn people with a flame thrower

Blow lots of stuff up using explosives, Harrier Jets, etc

and much much more.

... and nobody makes a big stink until someone discovers a *gasp* SEX scene?

The children, think of the children.
