Yes, it is normal. It takes a long time to heal because it heals from the outside in. Don't try to twist it until it does it itself when you are in the shower or something. Get some Bactine and spray it regularly.

+1

I know lots of people with ear piercings but not many that I know have their nipples pierced.

Good reason to have it done
:D

Uh-huh.

(Yes, I knew you were being sarcastic)

What's the woman getting pierced, her eyebrow? I would think that's more common (it is to me) than a nipple piercing.

Get some of those guys that suck blood to come over to 'take care' of you.

Hell, you could throw a party.

You'll be fine. Rinse and soak it twice daily with saline solution (bactine is to harsh for a lot of people, if you use it, at least dilute it a bit). Don't pick off crusties, rinse and soak them and gently swab them off with a q-tip. Don't rotate the jewelry... this drags all the jagged stuff, and the dirty stuff, through your fresh peircing. This makes your nipple unhappy.

A great way to get prepared saline solution is to buy cheap contact solution. It's already exactly what you want to clean out your peircing.
