Members Rippin' Robin Posted July 30, 2005 Members Posted July 30, 2005 And I mean the really, really fat bassy breakbeats. Something like "Ruff in the jungle business" by the Prodigy. Anyone?
Members Apendecto Posted July 30, 2005 Members Posted July 30, 2005 A while back (10 years ago) I heard a compilation called King of The Jungle that made me want to drive really fast. Try half.com or something. Yo.
Members bassman1956 Posted July 30, 2005 Members Posted July 30, 2005 It's like surfer guitar meets angry jungle rythms.

Members TwYzTyR Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 Jungle...well, if you want to go all the way back to the roots of it, you can start with Derrick May, Juan Atkins, and Kevin Saunderson and all their projects including Cybotron and Inner City. As for actual jungle...I really couldn't tell you. It's a very specific sub-genre of D&B. If that's what you want, look into Aphrodite and Dieselboy, and if you want the really whacked out {censored}, go for Squarepusher.
Members Darkstorm Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 King of the jungle 2 cd set is good. That and other compilations ones are easy enough to get thru Borders Book walk in.
Members motherfunk Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 squarepusher's big loada ep is fantastic but not what purists would call jungle, you'll dig it though. dieselboy's drum and bass selection usa is pretty good. www.ragga-jungle.com has some good stuff in the downloads section. plug's drum and bass for papa is worth checking out. brrrrap!
