Members Dark Slide Posted August 2, 2005 Members Posted August 2, 2005 ... Huh? There have been a number of people that have said she deserves it because you don't treat your customers like that... but then not all of your customers and asshole cops who come behind the counter and antagonize you while you're trying to work because they are on a power trip, either.
Members TwYzTyR Posted August 2, 2005 Members Posted August 2, 2005 {censored} him. He should have been fired. I'd have acted pretty much the same way if my manager had already checked the drawer. I'll take the pepper spray for $60K.
Members 1tallbassguy Posted August 2, 2005 Members Posted August 2, 2005 Just another abuse of power and authority.

Members syciprider Posted August 2, 2005 Members Posted August 2, 2005 I'm not saying the cop can do what he wants but I would've been VERY careful with my choice of words and overall demeanor when confronted by him.
Members burdizzos Posted August 2, 2005 Members Posted August 2, 2005 What a pathetic asshole. It's too bad there are cops like that clown, it'd be an honorable profession otherwise.
Members rikshaw Posted August 2, 2005 Members Posted August 2, 2005 you'd think that there would be some sort of test to make sure that assholes like that aren't put into positions of authority
Members der oxenrig Posted August 2, 2005 Members Posted August 2, 2005 Not cool. Even my asshole of a cop father probably wouldn't do this.
Members WillPlay4food Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 How did he get cleared of any wrongdoing?
Members syciprider Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 The girl didn't look like Natalie Holloway and would not make good copy so the incident didn't get enough public attention.
Members J. Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 The Minneapolis cops do crap like that all the time and very rarely get reprimanded for it, much less fired. The City of Minneapolis paid out over two million dollars last year to settle lawsuits involving police wrongdoing.
Members cdp Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 fargin icehole. he's a {censored}ing meathead. I notice he hasn't spent much time in the gym, but knows his way around Wendy's REALLY well....the fat {censored}.
Members jbryant8159 Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 That's outrageous. I wonder how much of the 60 grand settlement Brandy saw after legal costs.
Members Next2Nothing Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 I think I hear a verse from NIN "March of the Pigs" coming on...
Members BEAD Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 That's awful. I can't believe he did that.
Members DrSquirley Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 Thats insane, the cop was completely wrong about the money, and he didnt give in. And you know and ordinary person probably would have taken her word for it, but god forbid a cop be wrong. Im sure the there wasnt any racial stereotyping going on either, ha.
Members Bonoman Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 They're not known as pigs for nothing, people.
Members jackcheez Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 you'd think that there would be some sort of test to make sure that assholes like that aren't put into positions of authority They use that test to PUT them in positions of authority.
Members BEAD Posted August 3, 2005 Members Posted August 3, 2005 Originally posted by jackcheez They use that test to PUT them in positions of authority. Actually, I think this is wrong. I believe they run tests to profile the personalities of cops and turn down a lot of people because they want to be cops for the power and ability to dominate people, andbe aggressive. While this works a lot of the time, I imagine it isn't perfect. I know quite a few cops and most of them are cool.

While this works a lot of the time, I imagine it isn't perfect. I know quite a few cops and most of them are cool. Most are. My own brother is a cop, and he's a major asshole, but that's another story entirely. There are other cops in my family and I know a few here and there, and yup, most are regular guys doing their jobs. There are assholes in every field, and no, there's no test that can effectively weed them out...most people are smart enough to figure out the 'right' answers. Besides, there are just as many asshole captains and chiefs that hire badly regardless of testing. FWIW, I'da sprayed that beligerent {censored} sooner.
CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted August 3, 2005 CMS Author Posted August 3, 2005 You know, BOTH of them are stupid. When you give a cashier money, to avoid confusion, you'd say, "Out of twenty" if that's what you think you handed her. She should check what she got and respond "$6.84 out of twenty", and again to avoid confusion, place the money received sideways across the drawer slots while she makes the change. She then counts back the amount to the customer starting with the charge, "That's $6.84, 94, seven, eight nine ten, and ten is twenty. Thank you". If the customer thinks there's a mistake, that's the time to speak up. If there's no dispute, she turns the sideways twenty into the slot, and closes the drawer. After you drive away is not the time to dispute a cash transaction, no how, no way. Sorry, that was in a world long ago and far away, where people were trained and did their jobs. We can now resume modern life. Where's my lawyer?
