Members jbryant8159 Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 It really is an awesome combo amp for guitar. Falls short of being a very usable amp for bass. But, for guitar this puppy really rocks! Just thought I'd let you know. Carry on.

Members c0kenp0pr0ckz Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 is this a commong thing, bass practice amps working well as guitar amps?

Sorta yes, sorta no. Most bass amps anymore don't boost good guitar frequencies. They don't have the treble for a good bite, for instance. In the right situation, though, they can sound awesome.

No offense intended, but your post seems more like 'damning with faint praise' rather than the "big praise" you mentioned.
Members Perfessor Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 I own a Behringer Ultrabass BX1200. I've never had a problem with it and I can get an upright-like tone out of my passive Washburn T24 with this bass. Like from rags to riches, I could afford more and I'll need an amp with more watts for next year's outdoor jazz gig. So I'm buying an Eden in the spring (no kidding).

Yeah, I guess that's kinda true. Actually, it served it's purpose as a moderate volume practice amp for me pretty well and I'll keep it around for either bass or guitar work. My son (guitar) and I have found it works well when slaved off either of our other amps. For him it adds a little foundation to his sound and for me it can add a little punch that my 15 doesn't have. Having the ability to EQ and set volumes for each amp seperately has really widened up the spectum of tones for both of us basement players.
