Members Thunderbroom Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 My rock band just decided on a new name! When I joined the band a year ago, they called themselves "Late Calling". While I wasn't fond of the name, I thought it was okay and seemed to fit the band. We've had others jam with us lately including folks from my country band. As it stands now, the backup singer from my country band will be singing in my rock band and sharing leads with our other female singer. We also now have a part-time keyboardist and part-time guitarist. These folks will play with us when they can. Since the whole idea about the band is having fun, we're all cool with the fluidity of the members in the band. One of the original members suggested we consider changing the name about a week ago. I solicited names. We got three (including the original name) submissions. I had people email me their preferences in rank order. Our new name: Plan B Our first gig with the new name and members will be at a Pig Roast in Joliet, IL on Labor Day Weekend. I like it.
Members B-Bottom Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 I actually wanted to call the one band I was in Plan B. Everyone liked it but in the end it was voted against because their are a ton of bands with the same name

Members Perfessor Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 There's a local band called Bastard Son's of Johnny Cash!

That was my point at the time too. It is a cool name and I didn't mean to rain on your parade or anything. I always thought it would be a good name for a punk band, then I found out it is
Members fastplant Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 Yeah, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=%22plan+b%22+band Same thing happened with "Fastplant." It was the name of the band I was in when I started this account. There truly were no other Fastplants on the web then, but now there are like 50 bands called Fastplant.

Well, you could always call yourselves "Fameless and Unfortunate". And if you do obtain fame and fortune you could always go to plan b. (rimshot)
Members LeBraniac Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 Are you going for Plan B or is Plan B the name:confused: I think you should call your band the The Jolly Good Time Players featuring Jimmy:mad: that is all
Members fastplant Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 I actually think Thunderbroom is a cool name for a band.
Members BoundandBlocked Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 Hey T-broom, you probably should change your sig, it still says Late Calling.
Members Zamfir Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 You could call it 'Plan C.' And put a mad smiley after it.
Members shaffle Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 Thunderbroom's personal handle (err, forum name) sounds interesting enough for a band name also. I don't know if it refers to something else or not, just sounds kind of catchy.

I mentioned it to the guys I'm playing with (with T-broom's permission of course), but they passed. Too close to Thundermug, an old, still playing band out of London. I like "Late Calling" better than "Plan B". Yard Fulla Cars kicks ass though!
Members phatster Posted August 6, 2005 Members Posted August 6, 2005 I like the new name...but my old band's name is available...Disciples of Sound.......um..the 60's are coming!!
