Members MrJoshua
Yeah, I'm still waiting for the Preds to settle things with Sullivan, too. He was an integral part of getting to the playoffs last time, and he'll be just as important this year.

Members Joey Joe Joe
Toronto loses Mogilny to the Devils. Not sure how I feel about this... he's a good player when he's healthy, but he's rarely healthy. And after 2 hip surgeries, I don't know how much steam he's got left. I'm pretty convinced that Calgary will take the west, they've got the strongest looking team so far. I'm not sure who will take the east. Pittsburgh has got a great looking line up, but who knows how well they'll play together. Philly has a good team, but I think they're lacking on defence and goaltending. It should be an interesting season at any rate!
Members MrJoshua
Nashville's looking GOOOOOOOD this year. They just locked up Sullivan with a 4-year contract, and I'm happy about that. It's going to be a very fast, very gritty team on the ice for the Preds. The fourth line is going to be something to see, and the top line should be one of the fastest in the NHL.
Members FGABassGuy
I cant believe Lou Lamorillo in NJ would let Neids go so easily. Stevens is still very much in the air and Scott is one of the best blueliners in the league. Even with the addition of McGillis, the devils have been based on defense for a long time, and i dont see how they can keep it up. (unless marty is the best goalie in the east like he usually is) As for Mogilny (again)...hes a walking injury report most of the time, but if scores as much as he did in 2000, ill get over it. I would love to say my devils are looking good in the east, but philly looks very good again, and philly made a ton of moves. At least we'll still beat up on the rangers. more than anything, i cant wait to see hockey again!!!
Members MrJoshua
I'm with you there, man. I can hardly wait for the puck to drop. Luckily, I have pickup to keep me going until then.

Members zachoff
http://www.nhl.com/news/2005/08/233276.htmlDude, St. Louis would be an awesome addition to any team & Andrechuyk would be another 1996 Stanley Cup champ welcome back to the Avs. The Lightning have a payroll around $30 million right now, leaving them with about $9 million to re-sign St. Louis as well as captain Dave Andreychuk and probably a defenseman to replace Brad Lukowich, who joined the Islanders last week. Given that few teams want to go over $37 million in order to leave room for injuries and callups, St. Louis is feeling the squeeze.

Obviously he is a terrific player, but given that he has had only one real breakout season, is just coming off a badly injured leg, and is only 5'6", he probably isn't going to get signed as a primary superstar by anyone even if he did win the Hart last year. Members MrJoshua
$36 million? Wow. The Preds are right around $29 million, and that's after signing Kariya and almost all of the rest of the team.

Members Joey Joe Joe
Yep, Hossa and a player to be named later will go to Atlanta for Heatley. They'll have a press conference at 5:30 to announce it. I'm surprised they'd give up so much for Heatley. Hossa had more points that Iginla and Lecavallier last season, but the Sens are willing to give him AND another player up for Heatley? Seems weird to me. Members MrJoshua
Heatley has the talent to be a phenomenal player, but he hasn't really blossomed, and last season after the car wreck he really had a rough time. But still, Hossa? I should have thought they'd want to keep him a Sen.
Members Thrash Jazz
Honestly, I'd rather have Heatley. He grinds and bumps and can score, which is exactly what the Senaturds haven't had for a while. Hossa, while he is great when he's on, can be kind of streaky and he disappears in the playoffs. Besides that, the Sens already have Havlat and Alfredsson on the wing and they play a similar kind of game as Hossa. Besides, Hossa wanted Iginla-type money... and the Sens would have run into cap trouble if they gave it to him.

Well they did give it to him... $6 mil a year is a good chunk of cash. Now it's Atlanta footing the bill.
