Members KeroseneTrewthe Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 I was just thinking about my first post here. Its probably too old to find but I remember I said something in the lines that the Parker Fly bass was gay looking. It started quite the flame war. No pun intented. I didnt mean anything diragitory but I learned the pecking order real fast. And I think it was T. Alan who set me straight. I was new and that proabably didnt help either. Anyone remember what they posted about for the first time? Was it as stupid as mine?
Members burdizzos Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 My first controversial post was about a woman who was run over and killed while on the picket line. I implied that she was a moron and all hell broke loose.
Members sludgebass69 Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 Something about batteries vs. nuclear reactor powered basses probably...................ah hell there's noone left that would get the joke, lug maybe and that's about all.

Yup. Before my time.
Members PaulyWally Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 I think my first post was about all the frustrations in my old band. Don't remember. If the search function ever returns, I'll have to look it up (if it's still available). But I know I wasn't here too long before I got into a huge flame war. Don't even remember what that was about. But boy was I humbled by that experience.
Members Emprov Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 I was asking for advice on a strap for my Warwick and somehow JazzAd wound up being called a nerd. Nothing like starting a flame war on my first post!
Members ARES Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 I was asking about my new-to-me Tobias and saying hello. Like a month ago.
Members beam Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 I'm sure mine was some annoying post on a P vs. J

Members MistahMojoRyan Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 My first post was a question about neck radius; ie, what is it. I was told it was an excellent first post....it's been going downhill ever since.
Members B-Bottom Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 Mine was about how cool looking the Parker Fly bass is. I felt it was my duty to start it. Especially after all the derogatory things that were said about it in another thread.

Members DrSquirley Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 Mine was about an ibanez gsr i think.
Members lug Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 I remember posting about how hard it was to unload the HCBF server off the Pinta' withough getting saltwater into it.
Members Zamfir Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 I think it was to ask about $500-$700 basses, starting with the Geddy J bass. I got progressively stupid and off topic thereafter.
Members zachoff Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 The Parker Fly bass is gay looking. I think I was bitching about my wife or something OT... Not much has changed, I guess.
Members KeroseneTrewthe Posted August 5, 2005 Author Members Posted August 5, 2005 Originally posted by zachoff The Parker Fly bass is gay looking. Tis not gay looking parse but rather visually challenged.
Members DrSquirley Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 THis is OT but i see that alot of you are senior members now, or still jr members. Looks like im the only plain jane member, maybe i need to kick the posting into high gear. -Alex
Members zachoff Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 Originally posted by KeroseneTrewthe Tis not gay looking parse but rather visually challenged. The bass is aesthetically challenged. Those who think the bass looks good are visually challenged. Haha. Seriously though, Parker basses are the second ugliest ever next to Steinbergers.

Members The Unknown Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 Mine was when I was looking for a multi-effect unit and asked about the Digitech BP200. My first reply was lug's famous : "I prefer my effects in red" with his photoshoped version of the Korg Pandora PX3B.
Members Rachel Sampson Posted August 6, 2005 Members Posted August 6, 2005 Hmmmmmmmm. I think I asked y'all what was the most badass bassline of all time. I was making a compilation of songs with badass basslines for my bass teacher. I got a lot of good responses as I recall.
Members james on bass Posted August 6, 2005 Members Posted August 6, 2005 My first post was asking about ohms. That topic had always confused me. I received lots of great answers, then got steared towards the FAQ section which explained it just as well. Every post since has dropped like a stone!
