Members gazman
Always comes back to this but there is no best. However Timmy C's bass distortion from RATM right through to Audioslave makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside Having said that my Eden gives me some wicked grit... Members Dave Martin
My absolute favorite bass distortion comes from turning an old Ampeg B15 up to about 8...

I had the chance once to visit Fulltone and threw down a ton of $$$ that dc thingamajig is like 1 of 3 I love it at 18 volts
Members bassman1956
Man, my gas list need a rest, foikers! Not Best, but... Turn up the gain on the YBA200 to max, plug the active bass into the passive jack, and you know, it's starting to get gritty, and kind of habbit-forming! So tonight, just for fun, put the Ibanez Delay Champ in line, and well, there went an hour and a half! :) :)
Members Darkstorm
The OD setting (number 5 out of its choices) on my Zoom Player 3000B is my fave out of all the others and seperates that I've tried. Chriss Squire mainly used marshall guitar amp heads for the od part of his sound. Marshall Govner pedal would be good modern day equivalent in a pedal imo. Members Tlaloc
best bass distortion? Probably a pair of Ampeg SVT-CLs on top of one 8x10 each. One completely cranked, and one a bit cleaner.

Members pbassforever
i gigged with a russian Big Muff for a few weeks which was pretty cool. plenty of bottom end coming thru. more fuzzy than crunchy i guess.
Members The Unknown
The best distortion I was able to get is my ckanked SVT-CL but the problem is there's no kicking the distortion in or out. If you play distorted all night, from one end of a tune to the other, then this is the best option. I want to be able to switch distortion on or off... I got myself a Big Muff, mine is a true bypass USA version, no problem wih low cuts when it is set right BUT it's a fuzz, no an OD or a distortion... I'm still looking for a more subtle effect that works on bass...

Members Trento54
The rusian big muff is a cheaper version and a nicer sounding version then the american version
Members NeonVomit
Yeah, I love my Big Muff combined with my SansAmp. Sick distortion. Muff gives the Fuzz, SansAmp gives the crunch.Pure evil.
