Members NeonVomit
Ok, every time I have my Ibanez running into my Gallien-Krueger, I get this quite prominent hissing/buzzing sound that I don't get with my Ashdown. I changed the battery in the preamp, and still its there. However, that sound vanishes if I touch the metallic knobs on my bass. Why is this? Does the fact that im sitting near my computer (which is usually on) have anything to do with it?
Members nishich
if it does not disaperars when you touch the strings then something is wrong with bass wiring (grounding).if hiss changes when you move then its computer making noise especialy the monitor, try turning off monitor,
Members Markee
I've heard that you shouldn't play thru an amp near a TV, monitor, etc. When I'm on my cordless phone and the wife turns on the microwave it makes the phone buzz. Sounds to me like you have a ground problem as well. Has your setup been effected by Neon lights when playing out?
Members NeonVomit
Never played near Neon lights. Buzz is there when im holding the strings... maybe the grounding is a bit off? I'll also try the monitor thing. Any more opinions?

If you have an ohm meter you can check. If they aren't, most likely a ground wire is off somewhere.
