Members bassman1956 Posted August 11, 2005 Members Posted August 11, 2005 Okay, I know it's nothing... They're just taking a wart off his eyelid. And sure, a very welcome teeth cleaning at the same time. It's just that they are my kids, and they do put them under, and sometimes worrying goes with the turf. And they're almost 11, and I'm starting to worry more. Sure, dumb, I know. But real, just the same.

Worrying is natural..........but ti all sounds like it's pretty much routine - if there is such a thing! At least after the teeth clean, you'll be able to look him in the eyes without holding your breath!

You need a vet you can trust and that is all you can do. Your kids will be fine.
Members KeroseneTrewthe Posted August 11, 2005 Members Posted August 11, 2005 Dude, it'll be fine. Plus your dog will have much better breath!
Members sludgebass69 Posted August 11, 2005 Members Posted August 11, 2005 I understand completely. We had to take our lab, who's almost 13, to get a growth thingy taken off her lip a few months ago. She's did fine, but it's getting sad to watch her get old. She doesn't get up and down the steps like she use to, even though in her mind she's still a puppy.
Members Perfessor Posted August 11, 2005 Members Posted August 11, 2005 My dog was the one trying to hump all the females and fight with every male dog there. You know, the vet yelled at the top of his lungs ROWDY!! as he lifted his leg on the corner of the cashiers' station.

Seen it with my own eyes.

Really!!! Thanks, guys! Yeah, I know it's routine. They're nearly 11. We've been through this a few times. Just never feels comfortable, that's all. Just dropped him off on the way in. Man, almost had a mutiny trying to get him out of the house while leaving his sister behind!
Members sludgebass69 Posted August 11, 2005 Members Posted August 11, 2005 What kind of dogs are they?

Members bassman1956 Posted August 12, 2005 Author Members Posted August 12, 2005 In case any of you are wondering, he came thru fine! Was never a big thing, just that he's being left in someone else's care for an operation, somehow this unnerves me. Anyways, he's now got this huge plastic cone collar on. Can't get up or down the stairs without catching it on a step. Can't just jump on the couch, or the bed. And I'll watch him try to learn to leave himself room for the cone to miss, 'cuz he's learning, but just that simple act of looking to see if he clears changes his clearance from piece'o'cake, to catching the plastic cone and thump! he's stopped dead in his tracks. I feel sorry for him, , I really do. At the same time, I wind up rolling with laughter, 'cuz it really is funny!
Members bassplayinguy Posted August 12, 2005 Members Posted August 12, 2005 my dog just went to the vet today, shes been getting nose bleeds every now and then for about a week now, they found some sort of build up in her nose, and they think it could be a tumor or somehting, shes an 11 y/o Miniature Schnauzer
