Members Slats Posted August 13, 2005 Members Posted August 13, 2005 I know I've got to take the two end screws off, then I thought I could just lift the cover off, but there's still some kind of spring gizmo holding it in place. Need suggestions please! Thanks
Members megadan Posted August 13, 2005 Members Posted August 13, 2005 As far as I know, you have to actually remove the whole pickup/pickup assembly to get the cover off.

Then remove the two large screws that hold the pickup and cover - replacing them with the springs and pickup as they were, minus the cover.
Members bassmaniac Posted August 14, 2005 Members Posted August 14, 2005 No need to take the whole pickup assembly of the bass. Just unscrew the 2 height adjustment screws until the pickup assembly falls free, but do not pull the screws out. Squeeze the ends of the pickup cover to the center until you can get it out. It will not break. Hold the pickup assembly so that you can get the screws in the holes of the pickup base. Screw in the screws and adjust the pickup height to your playing style.

Members mrcrow Posted August 15, 2005 Members Posted August 15, 2005 another tip...slot the pup cover holes in an outwards direction ...then..if its the plastic one you can clip it back into position if you leave the springs in place..personally i would leave it ontaking it off just makes the thing ugly and unfinished...although i did make a little scratchplate to go over the hole and finish it off..but still it aint rickenbacker:cool:
