Members takeout
You can't go wrong with Boss. I've had the same TU-12H for ten years now. It tunes bass better than anything else I've tried.

Members Emprov
Another vote for the TU-2, it's dead on and virtually bullet proof.
Members mike fitzwell
The TU-2 is the fastest tracking tuner i've ever used, period. Good piece of gear fo' sho'!
Members Bassyeti
TU-2 is as good as your going to get before going to a rack mounted unit. Cost wise I am not sure if its really worth it to go to a rack after using my TU-2 for like 4 years with out and issue, however rack mounted units do have a lot of lights........................................... Definatly a big plus!
Members Jonny Five
Another for the TU-2.
Members Johnny BoomBoom
Boss TU-2......I had one of the others....TU-12 I think....but it wasn't so good on 5 string for some reason........
Members illidian
I use a cheap Korg GT3. Cost me $30, got it shortly after getting my first bass. Easy to read, simple to use, affordable price. If I needed one I would get something chromatic, possibly rackmount, and with a tuning mute footswitch (my amp has a mute button, but isn't footswitchable). Members Yools
I've used one of these for years: Click on the image for more info... I currently have it mounted on my pedalboard. It has always worked great with my 5-string basses. -Yools
Members venturawest
korg rack tuners - the DTR series. i have the DTR-2000. love it.
Members tdempsey
if ever a gear purchase required the famous "budget?" response, tuners would be it. i have the cheap Korg GT3 and it is fine for me for now - since the guitarist I play with uses the same one - and I already lost the $90 Korg (I think, a familiar one, longish in shape with the orange dial) is it worth discussing whether manufacturers tuners vary? I have to admit the rackmounts with all the lights are enticing.... mmmm....... lights...... but I'm trying to downsize the rig, not add weight to it. Members nosamiam
I have this: Guyatone MT-3 Micro Tuner. Very compact and tracks great, even on low B. It seems like they started with the battery and built the pedal around it. I love it. Now if I could just find it! Disappeared a month or so ago sometime between a gig and our next rehearsal. True, very easy to see on a dark stage. BUT they're not that easy to see on a stage with daylight (we play some festivals...).
Members My bass in your face
Tuning is overrated. But I like the lights in it. So I want the biggest as possible. I use a Korg PX4B.
