Members Jumpy
I im thinking of getting some TI jass flats for my 5-string that has emg active pups. Can anyone tell me the differance.I have some D'addiaro chromes on my P bass and like the way they sound but they are still to tight for my taste. I had heard that TI flats are more floppy and that might be what im looking for in a string.Any help is helpful;) ThxJon
Members GrooveMonkey
I ve used both and like the Chromes better because of the higher tension. The TI flats have a sweet woody sound to them though. I have Chromes on both my P and my Active Jazz Deluxe. They sound great!

I still really like the P-Bass in the mix. There's not really a difference that I can percieve with active pups.
Members Sixgun77
The chromes are too bright for my taste. I use D'Addario or Fender steel flats. My bass is a Squier Bullet with an EMG soapbar. I get tons of lows and mids with just enough high and high mid for a smooth top end that isin't at all sharp or harsh. It's almost like having all the goods from both a P and a Jazz.
