Well, if you cool it with this group for a couple weeks you might be able to think more clearly about it. I mean if it keeps you from playing the bass it must be serious. If you can afford it take a vacation then go and , run it by a pastor, people you meet or keep it to yourself, but I'd get away for a few weeks and think about other stuff. It'll clear your head.

It was probably the most complicated situation ever for the millions of other people who have been in that same situation.

It usually turns out that the girl meets some guy outside the group of friends and is never heard from again.

Two of the friends remain friends while the other, probably James in this case, leaves because he was only friends with Tim to get to is girl.

So, give Liz a good send off and go hunting for some ladies with Tim.

Oh well here's my story, too. I really loved this girl in college named Karen who was from S. Africa originally. She was everyone's friend. She liked a friend of mine, I was going out with a girl back home, my friend had a girl back home, etc., etc.

My friends got moody for a while, but she wasn't. And they got moody because I was interested in the same girl they were. We were still friends. I didn't do anything but take her out once which was very ackward for both of us. I am still friends with them all although we live all over the US now and see each other maybe every five years.

Yeah, you're probably right. It did feel better just to type it and put fellings into words. I'll have a think.

Thanks for the other replies btw guys, anything helps

I'm not saying he has malicious intent, but rather his motivations are quite possibly subconscious.

Oh I see, fair enough I misunderstood.

He has known Liz for a long time though, before she even met Tim. I don't know, there's so much that could be true that I won't even try to speculate.

Any chance of getting away from her for a while? I was in a situation EXTREMELY similar to yours, and i just left for a few months. I haven't gone back yet, but not seeing the girl has really helped me. I don't think think about her all the time anymore. The bike trip across europe sounds like an amazing idea, if you could do it. Just grab the ex-boyfriend and rock that. :p

I'd listen to Jonny Five for no other reason than the fact that he is the only one here to win Lug's semi-decadial "Best Crosspost Involving A Previous Lug Posting" AWARD! on 07/13/05. That alone qualifys him to solve your problem.

It would probably help to know which of you three guys is hung the best. 'Cuz in the end that's who she'll end up with.

In my opinion she's playing all of you.

I'd hit it like you just got out of prison. If the guys are really your friends they'll understand, cuz, well, they're guys.

Final thought; if this isn't proof that guys and girls can't EVER be "just friends", I don't know what is.

Can anyone give any advice at all, whatsoever? Unlikely, I know but has anyone ever been in a similar situation?

Sure. Here's probably the best piece of advice you will ever receive in your life.

...stay away from chicks named Liz!!!

Thant's the exception to the guys/girls/just friends rule.

She's probably just waiting for you to get in touch with your feminine side and then she'll pounce!
