Members sunburstbasser
Its a cheap copy of the Sansamp! Just take 10% off the Sansamp ratings and you'll probably have a good idea of how well it works.
Members johnp352
thru a PA..trashed by whatever else is going through.. overwhelmed by "your" guitarists irritatingly noisy onstage "tone"..mitigated by the dying battery(s) in your active *****..and further mangled by an ignorant sound guy, with standing wav's crushing the place and echoing back off the drunk fat frat boy yuppies at the back bar..it sounds just about the same.. Solo'ed at my home studio, through good headphones, using a unity gain pre..I suppose I can tell the difference. and I 've used the sans ever since it came out. i'd buy two behringers though, maybe 3 or 4..the construction is not exactly "tank like"..more "Ford" like..GM like...break down on a dark highway in the middle of the night, january in Michigan when it's 2 weeks old-like. Members james on bass
I'm in the same boat you are. The Sansamp is too far out of my budget, but I need something to spruce up my tone. I'm going to pick one up on Tuesday. I should know more next weekend after that gig and a band practice.
Members ToeJamFootball
yeah i think i will get one, then if i like the OD tones, i will get two, one for OD and one just for tone shaping. ToeJam
Members james on bass
I just picked mine up on Tuesday. (woohoo - finally something new for my set-up). I just tried it out for the first time, and I like it. I only had 15 or so minutes to fool around with it, and tried out a couple of the suggested settings. The Ampeg setting is very cool, as is the slap setting. I'm not a fan of distortion on bass, but a couple tweaks got it real fuzzy. The one thing I did notice with my amp, is I will have to use the BDI effect all the time or never. I've been setting the amp with volume up at 9:00 and adjusting output via the master for a little grit. I have to go back to clean (boost the master, adjust output with volume on amp) with the BDI or it just sounds like ass. I'm glad I picked it up, but my next gig will be the test. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with the overall construction, but it was like an 8th of the price of a Sansamp, and I am pretty carefull with my gear. For that price, I had to try it.
