Members SpaceGhost
A 4x10 combo is going to be a bitch to move. I started using a 1x15 first and than added a 2x10 for a little more high end. It will depend on what kind of tone your looking for.
Members Darkstorm
Its not a valid question imo. A 4x10=2x15 not 1x15. Between 4x10 and 2x15 I'd pick the 4x10 case prefers 10's over just running 15's. For 1x15 versus 2x10, theyre overall equal for air movement. Would again ussually pick 2x10. The other alternative is a 2x10 combo and 1x15 ext cab or a 1x15 combo with a 2x10 ext cab. Those can be very nice. The best thing for you to do if possible, is go listen to the ashdown 10's & 15's and decide which you like better yourself, and to also decide if you want just 10's, just 15's, or the mix of 10's & 15 for best to you sound. Members TheDude15k
I say go with the 4x10 yo. and then add the 15 later, or another 410 if youd like. rock! -rob-
Members syciprider
More drivers gives you a sort of redundant protection against failure. You blow a speaker in a 4X10, you're still playing. You blow a speaker in a 1x15...

I use the 1x15 at band practice (with a 1x15 peavey extension cab). i really like the sound it produces. I have used a 4x10 but not a loud volumes...so i cant really say which one is better from that. But the 4x10 is alot bigger than the 1x15

Members Fill C
4*10 with horn cranked to the max for me... I can never really make out the bottom end when I play on stage, probably 'cos I wind up standing so close to my rig. For this reason I try to get my stage sound really cutting and let the house system fill in the bottom end from the DI (+ I'd always planned to get a 1*15 or 1*18 to go underneath, but I never quite got round to it) ps if you want both then buy Peavey... I've yet to find a good reason for spending more
Members Banta
Multiple 10s are always better than a single 15. A 2x10 is better than a 1x15.

Members Sixgun77
yes, capable of doing it, but nowhere near as efficiently. If they were, people would use them for subs in clubs insterad of big speakers. !0's are nice and punchy. They're full of mids. They don't compete with big speakers when it comes to real low end though.
