So I go to Guitar Center to buy a case for my Geddy Lee (it's in a $10 gig bag for now) and the guy tells me they don't have any cases that would fit a J bass. What is up with that?!

So then I ask about a sansamp BDDI (also on my shopping list), no luck.

Okay, I'll give them one more chance. I try to buy some Dunlop strap locks for the Geddy Lee and all they have are gold ones. Sheesh...I am not putting gold hardware on my Geddy Lee. I would have gone with Schallers, but my "good" strap has dunlops on it.

What a bust...they'll still get my money since I probably just order from MF now.

I love the fact that my Fender Jazz came "strap lock ready," but you can't get the other end of the hardware anywhere. I refuse to install them the standard route because I've seen WAY too many rip out. I just went ghetto with it put ducktape on. In the end, I can just use Goof-Off on the stickiness if I have to. Good luck with the Sans Amp...I got mine at a Guitar Center, although I've sorta fallen out of love with the thing. I really do need to repair the switch...

I had a problem finding the strap ends as well when I bought my Yamaha, since it came with the strap locks already installed. I already had a bass with them on it and a strap to go with it, but I wanted another strap. Ijust happened someone on the forum that was wanting to get rid of their strap ends, but good luck on finding someone with a spare set of strap ends. You could always buy a set and then use the same strap for another bass.

The problem with the Evile Empire is they hire grubby little dick beaters at minimum wage and promote the least grubby one of the litter willing to take on managing the store for the shear title of manager who hasn't a clue. Probably eighty percent of the traffic that frequent those stores are after guitar stuff. My favorite rant on GC is the way they crank up loud music, (to make it sound like it's a happenin' place), so you have no chance to really try anything out. Granted, most of what you hear is unbearable {censored}e anyway.

Sounds like you live near a really bad one....

Good call Mark. Mine is also the smallest GC(Towson, Maryland) in North America IIRC. Now that I'm driving I don't shop there anymore. I'll go there and look around with my brother, but if I'm going to buy anything I'll buy it from Bill's Music House. Our GC usually only stocks what sells to the pop punk kiddies and little else.

That is not always true. My friend's uncle is a regional manager for GC, and he worked his way up from the bottom. He knows what he is doing and for that reason he is the manager that goes around to the stores that aren't doing so well.
