i prefer waters-era floyd, but there's no denying that syd barrett is a genius.

Check out some Hawkwind if you dig Pinks first album. Hawkwind do a great cover of Interstellar Overdrive.

Without Syd there would have been no Pink Floyd. They refined and rehashed his stuff for most of their career. His songs and singing still sound amazingly current.

Its lots of early Floyd tunes live including Interstellar Overdrive. Piper is one of the most psychedelic albums ever made IMHO....
