Members nofret Posted August 22, 2005 Members Posted August 22, 2005 I'm looking for an envelope filter (or auto wah) that allows you to blend in the dry signal with the effected signal - or at least blend in the low end. Everything I've tried so far takes away all of the low end when you kick it in. I'd also like to use it to add a little definition to solos. Any ideas?
Members fastplant Posted August 22, 2005 Members Posted August 22, 2005 I use a DIgitech ( I think, or it's DOD, the FX25 one) and it actually has TOO much bass, maybe you could try that one out. It was pretty inexpensive.
Members nofret Posted August 22, 2005 Author Members Posted August 22, 2005 I tried that one and wasn't too impressed. I was using a boss AW3 and it wasn't too bad - until I got out the soldering iron to make it better. Now it's dead! How about the Electro Harmonix stuff - the Qtron?
Members SpaceGhost Posted August 22, 2005 Members Posted August 22, 2005 I've heard good things about the EBS pedal but there's also the Chunk System's 00Funk, which is a sick pedal.
Members Geddy'sFavHeadache Posted August 22, 2005 Members Posted August 22, 2005 a cheap good one is a Toneworks AX1B. Has a pretty good auto wah and is only bout $200 US. Bargained and got mine for $175 pretty good tone really!

Members Dirty Sanchez Posted August 24, 2005 Members Posted August 24, 2005 Sounds like you want a Lovetone Meatball... They are fully sick...
Members gretschzildjian Posted August 24, 2005 Members Posted August 24, 2005 I tried several and chose the EHX Q-Tron. You can EQ your settings and it sounds sexy as hell!!!
Members Ron C Posted August 24, 2005 Members Posted August 24, 2005 The EBS doesn't suck out the low end at all, great but not cheap!
Members nofret Posted August 24, 2005 Author Members Posted August 24, 2005 Originally posted by tat2inmd I use ebs bass IQ love it built solid but expensive I looked into that one and it looks pretty cool. Have you adjusted the blend setting inside the unit?
Members MidLifeCrisis Posted August 25, 2005 Members Posted August 25, 2005 the Guyatone BR2 Bottom Wah Rocker Pedal has tons of low end and is pretty cheap -- $68. if you want to add or take away the dry bass, try a loooper with a blend pot on it:http://www.loooper.com/check out the options - blend pot or build a paralooper:http://www.moosapotamus.com/paraloop/paraloop.htm
Members Azwethinkweiz Posted August 25, 2005 Members Posted August 25, 2005 I purchased a Q tron, and after messing with it for days into weeks, I basically gave it to my guitar player becuase I couldnt get a useful sound out of it. Volume peaks were out of control. Got a better bass, tried it again with my amp's eq set flat, lowered the gain and the peak on the q tron, and now I've taken it back and absolutely love it. Moral: envelope filters work better with better basses, at least the q tron does.
