Members Ron C Posted August 23, 2005 Members Posted August 23, 2005 It's been a while that I visited the forum, I had 5 weeks holiday and don't have internet at home. My band is going really great, we're starting to get a bit "famous" in our country! As I posted before we would play at the Lowland festival. Last saturday we played there! unbelievable what an experience!, a huge and enthousiatic crowd that was! they digged us and I loved it! The whole gig was filmed by MTV and when we got of stage there cameras followed us again! Like we we're rockstars! After the gig we had to do some intervieuws and even a "meet and greet" with so called "fans"! what a weird experience.. we also did an acoustic "silent" gig there, the whole audience was wearing headphones, we had "in ears" I didn't felt comfortable with it but we survived. Later that day we had another gig at a festival on the other side of our country (luckily Holland is small) this day was one of the greatest experiences in my life! All week there are specials on MTV about Lowlands, so this saturday at 24.00 we are on! in a special with Queens of the Stone Age, Soulwax, 2nd Place Driver(thats us) and the AudioBullys!!! 20 minutes of our show will be broadcasted. I never thought something like this would happen to me! and on the other hand it scares me a little, I just hope I can combine my personal life (girlfriend, her kids and my work) with all this...

Members Perfessor Posted August 23, 2005 Members Posted August 23, 2005 The MTV exposure sounds real good on a resume. Maybe you can play as a warm up band for someone who's touring.

But I think it's a long way to get out of our country, we're trying to get something done in Belgium and Germany but it isn't easy to get airplay there. In the states or the UK would be even harder cause there are so many other good bands.
