Members MorePaul Posted August 24, 2005 Members Posted August 24, 2005 hmmm, let's see what we can find you for clarification what are you trying to accomplish? why does it need to be MIDI enabled? (do you need just program change or CCs or note information?)

Members MorePaul Posted August 24, 2005 Members Posted August 24, 2005 Ah OK - you want a bass synth The reason I ask is that the pickups aren't MIDI they are merely polyphonic (each string has its own analog line to the processor) -- why does that matter? well, not all units that use a GK pickup are going to output MIDI note info (the V-bass is a processor and produces funky sounds by altering the input, not identifying a note and triggering an internal synthesis engine) So you will need a synth or MIDI convertor caveat - I strongly suggest trying one out before going to the time/expense -- it's not for everyone -- for some the experience just plain falls flat as it oes not fit their playing style (and it's one I think you really have to judge by experience..."I like programming, effects and a weird sound palette" just isn't enough)
