Members L-1329 Posted August 25, 2005 Members Posted August 25, 2005 Just finished ordering the hardware, pickups and electronics for my future Warmoth. Seems like I underestimated how much this stuff adds up to! My Schecter new was less than the hardware going into this one! I suppose that's what I get for going for a no compromise bass. I am hurting a little right now in the pocketbook, but I just know this thing is going to be sweet... hopefully!

Members bpocall Posted August 25, 2005 Members Posted August 25, 2005 I hear that. Hardware and pickups will account for 1/3 of the price of mine. When did you put in your order with Warmoth? I ordered my body on 7/15, and it should be delivered today. I'm anxiously waiting to see what yours ends up like.
Members Darkstorm Posted August 25, 2005 Members Posted August 25, 2005 I actually doubt that the warmouth hardwareis going to be tht much better then is on your schecter unless your getting their best offered bridge & tuners. Yup warmouth is expensive. Did you concider parts & kit from Carvin? Better prices imo but fewer choices for hardware & body shape.

It's mainly the pickups and preamp that really add up, plus a hipshot A style bridge. The rest is no different really. Still, it will be worth it in the end. Really!

Today, man I'm jealous! my neck and body are still about four weeks out. All said it will have been about two months, but a lot of this one was, uh, non-standard! Make sure to post some pics, and let me know how it turns out when you get it!
Members bpocall Posted August 25, 2005 Members Posted August 25, 2005 Will do. Just body and hardware arriving today. I'll probably order the pickups tomorrow, then I just wait on the neck.

Yeah, but as much as is now riding on this I am going to have a pro do all the assembly on it. I can't risk any first timer screwups now. And Karl, less sailing, more bass building!
Members SpaceGhost Posted August 25, 2005 Members Posted August 25, 2005 Sweet zombie jesus, How big is that bridge?!

Man, that is going to be a stand out bass! Personally I've never been a fan of tort pickguards, but that on matches the color really well. What have you decided to put in for pups/ electronics? And also, how would you rate the build and finish quality now that you have it in your hands? Sure looks good in the pics...
Members bpocall Posted August 26, 2005 Members Posted August 26, 2005 I'm ordering some Nordstrand NJ4's to throw in there. Passive, vol/vol/tone. It feels really solid, and the finish is excellent. It's stil got that nice new paint smell too.
