Well once upon a time...nah

I got injured in a construction accident way back in 88?

No ins. let it go for 10 years, from standing on cement production floors it finally took it's toll and had to get surgery on my lumbar to wake my feet back up (they were so numb, yet touchy at the same time i could hardly walk) that was in 98...did fine till just begining of this year...i now have 4 herniated lumbar discs, plus bone spurs and arthritis and as an added bonus the old scar tissue is encasing the nerve roots; as i got a triple whammy going on down there. All I can say is OUCH!!! can't do {censored} either, after playing bass in church on sundays i'm damn near in tears...yes I hide it well  They all know though, guess i don't hide it well enough...anyway, now i'm looking at spinal fusion with instrumentation...screws the whole nine yards; i'll be fused from the sacrum thru to L4, and have a repair done on on the disc at L1-L2.

EDIT:ventura your mailbox is full...

Do you have any idea of how great the risks are and chances of success? I'd probably be pretty freaked myself but they're getting better and better at this stuff all of time.

Yea...80% success (to want degree?) 17% pain gets worse, 2% paralysis, 1% death.

Reading the risks in this booklet i have: Infection, nerve damage, bone graft shifting out of place, Bones not fusing, blood clots in legs, need of second surgery, spinal fluid leakage.

Jeesh...{censored}...{censored}...god damn...etc...

And if you don't have it done, you pretty much know what life's gonna be like. It ain't gonna get better on its own.

Yeowch! My lower back and my neck are messed up from being hit head-on 11 years ago. I really emphasize with what you're going through. Get yourself fixed up and feel better way soon!:)
