Members bassman1956
Not Found The requested URL /derrek/myfirstbaseline.wav was not found on this server. Mispelled link, base vs bass:http://webpages.charter.net/derrek/myfirstbassline.wav Got it to play, but sounds like dragging 8-track under water! That's not right, is it? When you get to the point that you now think is "good", you will realize that you could be better. You will never get "good" because "good" is subjective and your perspective will always change. It will be nice to get "better" though.
Members bassman1956
You'll get there. Don't fret. It takes lots and lots of time. A couple years before it starts feeling really comfortable. It's skill and talent more than knowledge, and practice, practice, practice more than just raw tallent, and that's what develops the skill. BTW, how old are you? And what else is/isn't going on in your life that you can devote so much of yourself to this? Lottery winner? Just currious. Members Zebra
That's some crazy feedback kinda thing going on that clip! You seem to have the basic idea though. It doesn't really sound like you're holding the full value of the notes, though. I don't know what you're playing, but I'm guessing the particular song wants you to hold each note until the next one begins. Keep it coming, though

Members Zebra
I just mean clip as in sound clip. I'm not sure what you mean by not knowing what some of the notes mean in tab.And I think I'm missing that song you're learning. As far as I can tell, the "learning your neck" excercise only has one page. Do you mean the "learning to read" one?

Members Zebra
I'm guessing it's the last measure that's getting you, eh? Nothing all that different note-wise, but the timing's a bit complicated. Do you have the stuff to have it play it for you? I'd just listen to that and imitate it. Otherwise, a metronome would be very useful.

It's an Ibanez GSR205. Not really a top-of-the-line bass, but it's a case of GAS, none the less.
