Members ZeroGomer Posted August 30, 2005 Members Posted August 30, 2005 I was wondering what is the best way to bypass the preamp on a head. I want to try out some preamps using my cabs and the amp in my head, but I don't want any of the built-in preamp to affect the tone. Can I just do this: Bass -> New preamp -> Post EQ FX Return ? I'm not gonna go fumbling around until someone who knows what they're doing instructs me. My head is a Harkte HA4000 and it only has Pre and Post FX Returns as inputs besides the instrument inputs.
Members illidian Posted August 30, 2005 Members Posted August 30, 2005 Yea, that's where you want it. FX Return. It will accept the signal, and since it's after the EQ (assuming your FX loop is post-EQ) the pre-amp won't have any affect on the tone.
