George Carlin, Robin Williams...couldn't political spinmeisters simply put words in their OWN mouths?

If you have to sell it through a falsely attributed source, the argument wasn't worth {censored} in the first place.

Yeah yeah... I know it's not George.

Kinda sounds like something he'd say tho.

After I posted it, I was curious what ol' Georgie was up to so I checked his site... sure enough, there was a message about this very subject.

Anyhow, still a damn good read.

Not particularly. I think George might agree with a few things on there but I wouldn't expect all of that out of him.

Jesse Jackson wasn't part of the solution when he was organizing sit ins to oppose racial inequality and getting thrown in jail etc.? He might seem like a joke now to some people but he put his money where his mouth is a million time before I was even born!! (I am 30)

don't Americans already pay the least amount of tax of any of the OEDC?

As far as not owning a slave and blah blah..if you want to experience all the amazing benefits of our North American Society you need to pay the piper too. I didn't settle Canada as a mostly English speaking society but I am reaping the benefits as an ESL teacher able to work in numerous locations around the world and live in the top 10% of many of these locations simply due to where I was born ..should I not also have to work towards answering my Country's treatment of Japanese-Canadians in WWII or the situation on many Native Canadian reserves?

"My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and whoever canceled Jerry Springer." ...you were alive in the 20s and 30s to watch Ruth? John Wayne??? who's next on that list Bozo the Clown? Reagan? What about Martin Luther King or Jackie Robinson...

That was probably one of the dumbest things I've read in a while.

Why do people write this? To justify the existance of themselves and a narrow band of people who happen to have the same particular racist attitudes and political slants?

No, this doesn't sound much like Carlin at all does it, Ted Nugent maybe, but not George Carlin.

+1

Ted might be a bit more outspoken about it, though, but you're probably closer to the truth ;)

It doesn't seem like topics George would generally get onto. Besides, he's not likely to say he was proud that 'god' was written on the U.S. currency. He's an atheist :D

Well, it's not funny at all, so how is it meant to be taken?

It's meant to be taken as opinion. His (whoever the speaker is) is as entitled to his as you are to yours. People have as much right to agree or disagree with it as much as they do yours.

His opinion is not calling for any form of attack on anybody, nor is he making his point with a lot of loose, vulgar name calling.

The best thing about being a person is you don't really need to "justify your existence" to anybody. No matter how "justified" your existence might be, it doesn't really give somebosy the right to name call.

I think I know the guy who wrote that! Sounds just like someone I used to work with. He was forever going up to people and responding to criticisms of his lifestyle that no one ever made. Very weird cat.
