Members rudetay2
I am in need of some guidance in this matter. So, I own a Fretless Warwick Corvette and an Electra Outlaw (1970s japanese bass). I play in a ska/punk band and also in a jazz/dub/hardcore band that has yet to play a show. Due to the fact that I frequently have trouble hearing myself on stage I have been playing with my much cheaper fretted bass for practice and for shows. The fretted bite also breaks through easier in both bands. My Warwick has been feeling very lonely lately. So, to the point, earlier this week I stopped by my local guitar center. They had a Geddy Sig there that I found to be amazing. They offered to have me trade in the Warwick with $200 for the Geddy. Theres a sale on labor day and I can likely grind them down to only $100 cash. What do you guys think, should I give up a bass that I love, but don't play much outside of the house for a bass that I would use all the time? And will I be getting a good deal? Members 82Daion
Maybe you should try to find a fretted Corvette:confused: The Geddy is a really nice bass, but as nice as a Warwick? That I don't know.
Members tom_s252
Yeah, why not try a fretted Corvette? Seems like the sensible thing to do. I was playing one in the Bass Cellar on Denmark St last week, great basses. Great shop also, btw, and kudos to Simone for helping me out and pretty much throwing the whole shop stock open for me to try
Members ARES
don't give up a bass you love, just save up for the geddy and buy it. used passive corvettes go for $400 to $600, and a new geddy is $700, so if you do ditch it, it wouldn't be a bad deal. or if you have any pictures of your warwick, i'll make you an offer. Members sunburstbasser
Do you use some extra midrange with your Warwick? Maybe just juse more midrange from your amp will help cut through a little more?
