Members MrJoshua Posted September 10, 2005 Members Posted September 10, 2005 This is going to be a great year for hockey, I think. At least, around here. I think Nashville is going to have a great team.

Forsberg was hurt half the time, anyway & we still won 9 division championships in a row.
Members 4string Posted September 10, 2005 Members Posted September 10, 2005 Montreal won 11 cups, but you don't hear them bragging about yester-year, besides I wouldn't brag about second place. Calgary came in second last year, you don't hear me bragging...well maybe just a bit;)
Members MrJoshua Posted September 10, 2005 Members Posted September 10, 2005 Colorado's still going to be tough. Calgary has several new faces. If they gel, they're going to be stacked. Nashville has the core of last year's team, plus Paul Kariya up front and Markov on the blue line. They added speed up front and grit on defense. Plus, I think the rule changes are going to allow athletic goalies like Vokoun to really shine. I'll put a box of Pop Rocks and two root beer suckers on Nashville. Incidentally, I just picked up three tickets for opening night against the Sharks. Thirteen rows from the glass.

Members PhishGordo Posted September 12, 2005 Members Posted September 12, 2005 hockey is going to be alot different now though. it's going to be alot more about finesse and less about hitting. it's going to be a higher scoring game. with no 2 line passes, and tag up offsides there's going to be tons of shots. just think, when the people are tagging up for an offsides, the team with the puck can just make a 2 line pass right on the opposing blue line. which equals mad breakaways. i'm expecting faster, younger teams like ottowa and columbus to do well this year.

True, but I think there will be a lot more concusisions this year. There will be so much speed comming thru center, the D will just be able to stand up at the blue line and cream people. My Coyotes are looking pretty good. Later Joe
