Does anybody think this is a bad idea (its going to be used for music and recording

if you;re just gonna use it for a scratch disk for recording, go for it. if you plan on storing anything that you don;t want to lose, i'd invest in a better brand.

 

external drives are pretty easy to do. you can get a seagate and an enclosure for not a whole lot more, and actually be able to depend on it.

I'd just buy it if you like it. The case is by "Desk Hammer" but there are only a few companies making the actual hard drive and they're all good.
