Members james on bass Posted September 10, 2005 Members Posted September 10, 2005 I play a five string. Have for 20 years. Don't like 4's, had a 6'er. Would like a 6'er again sometime. Anything more than that seems like a waste to me, but I would so order something like this if I had money to burn. Here's a pic of the front.
Members missionone01 Posted September 10, 2005 Members Posted September 10, 2005 I had the chance to play one of these 36 fret ConKlins and if you want to play guitar at the same time as the bass then you will dig this. Bill can intergrate a split pickup that will allow you to play 4 strings seperate from the others.

Members Darkstorm Posted September 10, 2005 Members Posted September 10, 2005 Maybe if was a 4 or fiver. But certainly not an 8. The purple one looks nice. Doesnt like the black & wood versions looks.
Members NeonVomit Posted September 10, 2005 Members Posted September 10, 2005 I'm not a super huge fan of uber extended range basses (even though I play a 6-er myself) but yeah those look pretty cool!
Members spinedriver Posted September 10, 2005 Members Posted September 10, 2005 Looks like you'd need the hands of a freakin' gorilla to be able to get your hand around the neck...
Members Perfessor Posted September 10, 2005 Members Posted September 10, 2005 I'm glad I have 4 hands. That should help a lot.
Members sunburstbasser Posted September 10, 2005 Members Posted September 10, 2005 Amazing instruments! But 4 strings is usually MORE than enough for me. I'd just look like a total poser with an aircraft carrier hanging around my neck.
Members THX1138 Posted September 10, 2005 Members Posted September 10, 2005 That many strings would greatly impede my beer consumption. Quite frankly, four is too many for me on most tunes.
