Members Kelemvor
I need a good 8 ohm cabinet that I can bring along with my rack case to small shows, rehearsals etc... I've been using the hartke, but I made the mistake of bringing it to an outdoor show last night. We had good PA support, but I was using the fartke as a monitor. All I can say is that 2 10 inch aluminum cones make interesting noises with that much power going into them. I think the Bass750 is like 600 watts or so into 8ohms. I had the gain over halfway and the master a little over halfway I think with an active 5 string. Oh how it HATED that low B when I was slapping it, lol. I was supposed to have my Goliath with me, but due to logistical reasons, it had to stay behind.
Members Benjamin
I would have thought it would be fine if you turned it down. You don't need that much volume for a monitor, especially if you're singing.
CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted September 12, 2005 CMS Author Share Posted September 12, 2005 An Eden 210XLT would do really well. Very efficient, nice tone. When using your rig as a monitor, especially with a compact cabinet, forget about the B-string on stage. Just make sure it sounds good at FOH, and keep your stage monitoring mid-heavy. Members timmerz
The Transporter series from Hartke was their lower-end stuff, and I think the 210T was only rated for 150 rms? You're lucky you didn't just smoke that {censored}er right there the first time you popped the B.....
Members zachoff
Yeah, aluminum cones sound like a big fat ass ringing a bell when distorted. Why not a Goliath Jr?

I was just looking at the Avatar 2x10 with the neo drivers. 600 watts RMS??? Thats a lot better than my hartke, and the price is right too. A goliath Jr or Son of Bertha would be nice though because it would match my Goliath if I wanted a full stack. I already have $700 on my guitar center card though so I need to be careful. I will probably be gigging on a regular basis from now on, so I'll keep my eyes open.
