Members wilki29`
So i have a fretless fender jazz with lindy fralin pickups. Which bridge would sound better? BA II or the gotoh 201?
Members beav2k2
Never heard/seen the Gotoh in person, but I can vouch for the BadAss. It add a good bit of sustain and it's adds some brightness. the biggest downside is you have to file your own notches.
Members WildPotato
I prefer the Gotoh 201. It's much better looking, and the tone is comparable.

Members sunburstbasser
The BadAss is a little heavier. Some say it adds some treble response (aka Definition) to your tone whereas the Gotoh just kinda evens out the frequencies and gives more sustain without really affecting the tone much. Members wilki29`
looking for a more jazzy type sound. Since i have lindy fralins im looking for a more warm punchy jazz tone. I didnt know if the BA II would give it too much definition.
Members Emprov
Swapping bridges to something a bit more robust will probably add a bit of punch and sustain but take away the warmth. Warmth and punch are opposites of sorts.
Members Ole Man Blues
Try some Flatwound strings for added warmth. They will also round out your tone. I use D'addario Chromes in 105-50's on my Fender Jazz Bass (Passive). I get some great compliments from my drummer with these. The drummer I play with at church has played in the 60's and 70's with the best in Motown. Even jammed a show with Bob Seger....... OMB

The QSR is similar to the BadAss-II but you can pop the strings out easier (through slots in the rear). This is nice if you're into cleaning strings, etc. Also, the saddles are already notched for you. Emre
