Is there a KSD Jazz club?

Very nice. If I were to play a "Fender", it would be something like that. I've heard they are very nice and priced well.

if you haven't had an SX, don't knock it yet. You might be pleasantly surprised. I was gassing for that same SX. I just got a really good deal on this one.

 

I actually don't like "Ken Smith" the person, but he designed a heck of a bass.

I've never played an SX (or even seen one in person). I just placed an order today and I'll have to see what I think when it gets here. Frankly, my expectations are not too high for a sub $200 bass...so I really can't be disappointed!

I don't know him personally. But I've always loved the sound and distinctive look of his basses. I have to admit, I was never a huge fan of the feel of his wide + flat necks. That's what's kept me from dropping huge amounts of money on one.

I, unfortunately, had a run in with him on another bass forum. It's pretty much understood by everyone I've talked to (dealers, customers, etc...) that he is a genius, but an asshole genius.
