Members Jacosportrait87 Posted September 13, 2005 Members Posted September 13, 2005 I'm lookin to get some opinions on some good small combos, like a practice amp. Something that can be used to teach, jam with some people, small coffee house, that sorta thing. I saw the DC112XLT from Eden, it looks really nice. Decent tone control, solid 12" driver, w/ 250 watts internal...I'm thinkin something along the lines of that. Tell me your experiences!
Members sunburstbasser Posted September 13, 2005 Members Posted September 13, 2005 I'd go for the Eden! One of the most bad ass bass tones I ever heard was a guy playing a Lakland through an all-Eden setup. I don't have a real practice amp, myself.
Members bassman1956 Posted September 13, 2005 Members Posted September 13, 2005 I won this off of ebay: A Roland BassCube 30 So far, I've been very impressed with it. Okay, the effects aren't maybe all you want. But the modeling is a nice touch. And what I like is the meaty bass tone at a low volume. You can get them under $300 new, and in the $125-175 range used. Here's more of a thread about it.

I'm lookin for something a little more powerfull, and something that can hold its own w/ a couple people.

Surprisingly, not that much more expensive. (But I really wanted a small portable amp.)
Members Darkstorm Posted September 14, 2005 Members Posted September 14, 2005 That Eden though expensive would be very nice. It also as I remember has two inputs so two bass players can play thru it together as in teaching situations. For less expensive, the single 10" or single 12" Eden Silver would be nice. Less power, but plenty for what your talking about. Only other brand I'd concider myself in that more hifi qaulity bracket is Genz Benz.
