which glue is best for bindings?

beware...those acetate and high octane glues can eat your paint...

i found out this on my ric...i glued something in place and a dribble went on the paint surface...or laquer perhaps..and ate a hole in it...

i would go for a slow action setting glue...not sure which...but a wood glue might stick to the plastic binding...and give it time to set...

varnish sounds like a safe bet...
