Members Perfessor
She needed it. Putting her there was neccessary due to her leaving the stove on, etc. She needs to be watched constantly. She doesn't seem too upset about it now, though and thinks she's been there for 8 days already even though she went there yesterday. I guess life gets simpler. Members bassman1956
Know the feeling... Mixed, fershurr! Our mom went into one on Valentine's Day this year. What a loving gift, eh? It was totally her move, her timing, her choice of facilities. She's got a 2-room apartment. They have other care there if you need it. LPN on a call button. Help with her O2 system and tanks. Dinner with other residents. No snow to shovel or hot house to be stuck in. In ways, it's quite a blessing. On the other hand, the house has been cleaned out and sold. There's no central place for us sibs to visit at. What to do when I make a 5 or 7 day trip with the dogs is really up in the air for lodging. Our normal get-togethers, since none of us live in town, now have precarrious futures. Meanwhile, she seems to be getting chair-ridden and complacent. I don't know how much of it is age, how much of it's the cancer, how much is the air bottle she'd got to drag around, and how much might just be giving up/into the depression of living at death's door. It's not easy. Remember, you're not alone.
