Members jannda
SEEMS he never makes anyones list for anything so I was just wondering who here likes his playing( tone style) peronaly I think he's one of the all time best but i'm sure I'll get some disagreement on that. love his sound and style although at times he can seem a little sloppy on live stuff but we all can LOL.Especialy like his acoustic hot tuns stuff. met him once he's really a nice guy and seems to like to talk about just about anything music, politics, food just a great guy and so is jorma met them at a hot tuna concert here about a year ago and spent about an hour after the show just bs'n so what do you think just courios. Members flatcat
I think he rocked with the Airplane. I was playing bass for a friend of mine when he was invited to play at the WXRK Vin Scelsa Easter Acoustic extravaganza. I was young and surrounded by all these well-known people, and was pretty wowed. Anyhow - I was trying to tune a fretless bass by pressing my ear to the neck, because it was so loud in there, and I feel this hand on my shoulder. I turn around and this guy's standing there saying, "That looks really difficult to do, tuning a fretless bass in all this din. Want to borrow my tuner?" I said 'sure', he pulls out a beat up old case, and I see the flight tags, and it's Jorma. Jorma Kaukonen is lending me his tuner, I thought. Holy sh*t. So, being young, I said - "So how did you tune your guitar on 'Embryonic Journey'? Did you use a tuning, or just drop the Es, or what?". He goes "Here, let me show you." He drops the low E and plays it for me. Right there in this room full of people. I've been lucky in my musical life, and gotten to do some cool stuff, but that memory is one I really cherish. He totally didn't have to do *any* of that. I'll never forget that.

Members degroove
I dig Casady. I am not much of a Jefferson Airplane fan. I think Hot Tuna is a lot better. I find the Airplane gets a little melodramatic for my tastes. Hot Tuna is psychedelic roots music and Jack drives the Attack.
Members SB
Jack is one of my favourites. Sometimes it scares me how muh him and I have in common when it comes to playing or designing a bass
Members bassman1956
Good stuff! Well, okay, especially the earlier, and I don't think I know any of his latest work.

Members bholder
I've got one of his sig basses already (nice), I'm just kicking myself for not bringing it with me and getting it signed when I went to see them last winter. Jack is excellent, never too flashy, always tasteful, can play in the pocket with the best of them, and can solo like you wouldn't believe. Members jos
I love his stuff with the Airplane, and have been meaning to listen to more of his Hot Tuna stuff. He is definitely not mentioned often when people talk about the great rock bassists, but he should be.
