Members T. Alan Smith Posted September 15, 2005 Members Posted September 15, 2005 Got to play a few Jerzy Drozd basses this past Sat. The guy remembered you, but I can't remember his name. He asked how you were liking your new fretless. Anyway, they were pretty dreamy. One of the few top shelf basses I really dug. The rig weren't bad too. Walter Woods head into a Schroeder 410(I believe) cab. Sweet!

It was very nice, but not THAT nice. Way beyond the point of diminishing returns, IMO. I'd LOVE to pump that Schroeder with my 350 head tho.
Members bpocall Posted September 15, 2005 Members Posted September 15, 2005 So the Schroeder was nice? I've got to try one of those one day.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed with the Schroeder. I didn't get a chance to pump it tho. Dayum, I wanna try one out with my SWR. Anyway, I give them a
Members bassman1956 Posted September 15, 2005 Members Posted September 15, 2005 Ahh, so did you go over to his place in Palos Hills? What a basement store, eh! His name's Dan Lenard. Hopefully he remembers me in a good way. What I played through I think the first time was Demetre and Accugroove. Second it was the PJB combo. Awesome stuff! You know, I fell in love with the Jerzy looks. But fine. If they didn't impress the {censored} out of me playing them, I wouldn't own one, period! BTW, my JD fretless is just about the only bass I play any more.

BTW, at another booth, I got to play a $4K Fodera thru another Walter Woods & an Epiphani(sp). Ya know, as nice as all that amplification gear was, I missed the personality of my SWR. I'll take both my 350 head & an SVT any day over one WW-type head.
Members T. Alan Smith Posted September 15, 2005 Author Members Posted September 15, 2005 ...and the Fodera was dddrreeeammmyyyyyy:) :)

They really shine in a live setting, and because of the quasi-folded horn design, they throw the sound out really far. I really want a pair of 1212s.
