La Bella Strings

Flatwounds.

 

Thinking about ordering a set for my T-40.

They have to be extra long scale to have any hope of fitting, and I've heard that these are pretty good strings.

I've never tried LaBella strings, but I recommend SIT Strings...

I currently have LaBella Beatle Bass flats strung on my Turser Beatle Bass, and I love 'em. The bass is a blast to play, and I really like the feel and response of the strings.

I used a set or 2 back in the 70's or 80's

I know Brian Bromberg swears by them, i think they're hand wound.

I have la bella super steps on the Warwick, they sound really good, but they were not cheap.

LaBella Slappers 40/60/80/100 came stock on my Jerzy. Liked the tone a lot, even on the fretless! Good mwah. I might have left them on, but they were marking the fingerboard, so swapped to the D'Addario brite flats.

Yeah, I've got La Bella Super Steps on my fretted F, and they're quite nice. Mostly I just started using them because that's what George puts on all of his Basses, but now I use them because they're great. Can't comment on the flats specifically however.

Has anyone had a chance to use the Jamerson signature set? Someone at some point in time posted their impression of the strings and said they were like playing giant cable wire but I was looking for something more in depth. Gracias.

Huh, that's weird. I tried those same strings posted on just strings link and the G string unraveled within a half an hour and broke.

Yes, I have a set on my Rickencopy, I can turn the tone right up and I get very little finger noise etc but it will still growl. They really suit my heavy-handed fingerstyle playing and are good with a pick also.
