Members DanTolen
I know I could have searched so sorry. I'm looking to replace my Fender Rumble 100 with a rig and sell the Rumble. Would a 300w head with a 2x10 speaker cab be any louder and clearer than the combo I have? I imagine it would be way louder, but I've never heard a 2x10 for bass. My budget is around $500 usd. Members Markee
You don't have to go the "used" route and I would discourage you to do so if you aren't up to speed on the used market and know what to look for. You'd be better served buying with warranty and starting a relationship with your local mom and pop shop if you have one near you. If you don't, check out avatar.com. Thay have some super deals going if you buy one of their cabs. I have a 1X15 Avatar cab and would not hesitate to recommend them.

What I was thinking about buying was a new Ashdown Mag 300 head for $268, and an Avatar 2x10 delta for $229. Off of www.avatarspeakers.com

Members Emprov
Don't walk, don't run, JUMP on this cab: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1036902&highlight=acme ..and pick up a used GK400RB for around $175 or so. It's a bit over your budget but you'd have one heck of a head start on an incredible rig.

Members Crescent Seven
You won't be disappointed in the Ashdown MAG300 *IF* you choose the proper speakers.I played mine through my 2x15"-too boomyThrough a single 4x10- too much driveThrough 2-4x10's- nice clean power, no bottom end I ended up building a 1x15 with a speaker from my 2x, and put it under my Sonic 4x10. The Ashdown is the best budget head on the market by leaps and bounds.C7
