Members Benjamin
How do the short scale Alembic basses get by without feeling a tad flakey/rubbery like some other short scale basses?

Actually the medium scale (what Alembic calls short scale) is not that rubbery, especially when you put Pyramid Flats on it. I played that bass throughout the '80's with D'Addario Half Rounds on it. It's just too heavy for this Geezer to hold for three hours today. There's a half pound of brass under the bridge, it's kinda neck heavy, but it's one hell of a bass. The attention getter is the LED's in the neck. Some people just don't know what to make of that when they see it.

Members Root Vegetable
I did indeed. He was great to deal with, and I'd be happy to do business with him again.
